Loose night sketches of flowers

These are two of the loose sketches I did that night.

Thursday Night Meetup.com

On Tuesdays and Thursdays I hosted figure drawing sessions .

We had a great night field sketching and painting when the model had a sudden emergency. So great to be in the company of artists who just shift gears this fast and have an AMAZING TIME!

So, keeping you in the loop, here are some photos from our night and some drawings I did that night. I also use a very loose approach to sketching a wonderful bay area artist, Scott Bell, suggested I try, when I needed to wash some of the tight animation drawing out of my system.

This morning is overcast and cool. Loving it. I was getting heat-waved out. The past week or so, I've been building an instructional technique. I like the idea of putting casts to use for something other than sight/size. They're great for head drawing work outs. They're great for demo's for students. The cast head can be a little less daunting than a model, for beginners, as well as someone wanting to just work out some bugs. So, here are two 20 minute studies from the past week, one from my model. I try not to make them look like plaster, but a live person. It's fun to use your imagination.
